Description

EPDM roofing lasts 20 to 25 years and has been in use since the 1960’s and has been proven to last well on RV roofing applications, as well as being the easiest roofing type to install. SINGLE-PLY membrane – More durable than double-ply membrane (rubber with black bottom and white top), it is LESS LIKELY to crack than other membrane types, however it ABSORBS MORE heat than TPO and PVC roofing. COLOR white, same throughout the entire surface. TEXTURED SURFACE for better traction – install with the textured size facing up and the smooth side down toward the roof (facing glue) HOWEVER the rubber may be installed with the smooth side down if you wish. Since this is single-ply it will not cause any issues if the textured side is down. PREPARATION – Item ships folded in a box; this may cause some slight, temporary creasing in the material. It is recommended that you remove it from the box as soon as you receive it and lay it flat to allow it to “relax” for several hours before installing. This will allow the temporary creases that may have been formed to come out as the item “rests”. DO NOT lay the membrane on gravel, stones, grass, sticks, or other sharp objects while you allow it to rest. INSTALLATION – Install roofing with the smooth side down towards the roof, facing the glue. We recommend you glue down the roof using our Class A Customs brand water-based adhesive (glue is NOT included, must be purchased separately) rolled onto the roof in a wet film thickness of 8-10 mils using a paint roller or brush.Gluing one half of the roof at a time may be easier than attempting to glue the entire membrane at once. Be sure the membrane is pulled taut from each of the four corners of the roof, checking that the membrane is as flat as possible before the squeegee process. Remove all air pockets with a squeegee; press firmly starting in the center and working outward toward the edges, removing all bubbles and wrinkles. The roof will tighten and conform as the adhesive cures.
