I read the reviews, made the choice to purchase, and am so glad I did!
Yes, the blades dull quickly.
Alan wrench and you can rotate the blades to a new cutting edge.
Yes, this little gem has its’ limits, and will let you know by bogging down the motor, so don’t go too large with the limbs, know the limits of this machine.
I’ve been trimming our little orchard, our garden, and have lots of wind blown dead oak about our property.
Made about a 5cf pile of green and dry, paid attention to crotches and knots, didn’t rush the chipper, and the pile was transformed into semi mulched leaves and wood chips of the green and dry limb woods.
I have diamond and bastard files, and will sharpen the blades tomorrow, I did flip them after about an hour or two of use.
It’s like any tool, keep it sharp and it will be safer and much more effective.
I found replacement blades at amazon, set of 4 with screws for less than 20, idk if they fit yet, USPS has our parcel hostage, as usual…
To me, this thing makes me very happy.
I have a lot of downed limbs and trimming to do, if I can make garden gold mulch out of all that with minimal effort, for about 100 bucks, yes please.
Wish I could buy an extended warranty.
Hope it lasts, but for now, I highly recommend for yard waste and trimmings that can be put right to use.
Help retain water, enrich the soil by adding amendments, weed control, lighten up non porous clay soil and do a layer method incorporating the larger limbs at the bottom of our new metal planters, mix with soil, mulch, ash from the burn piles, I am excited about our garden again.
