This variety thrives in the northern half of the United States. Dacotah Switchgrass is know for its winterhardiness, drought tolerance, and seed production. Seed production will start after the first year of planting and will continue indefinitely. This grass will grow up to 5 ft tall when it is mature and will provide great cover for many types of wildlife. Seeding Date: Optimum time is early May to mid June – can also be planted in the fall Seeding Depth: 1/4 to 1/2 inch Seeding Rate: 7-10 lbs/acre This bag will plant approximately 1/2 acre.
